  • Soda (Indian wild berries), washed and dried raw mango each
  • Mustard oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Fennel seeds
  • Nigella seeds (kalonji)
  • Turmeric powder
  • Chilli powder (adjust to taste)
  • Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Salt to taste

Here is how we make the lasoda Pickle preparation:

  • Wash and thoroughly dry the lasoda berries, ensuring there is no moisture.
  • Heat mustard oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, nigella seeds, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and asafoetida. Sauté until the spices release their aroma.
  • Gently add the dried lasoda berries and raw mango to the spice mixture. Stir well to coat them evenly.
    Allow the lasoda berries to simmer in the spice mixture for a few minutes. Let the pickle cool to room temperature.
    Transfer the pickle to a clean, dry, and airtight container. Let it marinate for at least a day to enhance the flavours.
